Please join us in making the mitzvah of Matanot L’Evyonim (giving gifts to the poor) a truly meaningful one this Purim.
Pico Shul & Happy Minyan are hosting "Operation Care”, a Purim chesed program to assemble and hand out survival kits to our local homeless.
Not only will the kits help those in need, it fulfills the positive commandant of helping the poor of our city on a day God wants us to help the poor. The project will also sensitize members of our community to the plight of the disadvantaged among us.
Here is how the program works: anyone who wants to participate contributes $10 per kit for the contents. On Sunday March 8th participants will gather at Pico Shul to assemble the kits (Pico Shul will store them for you). Then, on Purim day, we will gather together and distribute the prepared kits to homeless folks in our neighborhood.
Sunday, March 8 - Packing kits from 10:00-11am
Tuesday, March 10 - Meeting to distribute kits after Pico Shul / Happy Minyan Megillah reading at Pico Shul, approx 10:30am
