In Times of Crisis We Must Invest In The Jewish Future
It's hard to fathom how much has changed since the last High Holidays. The year 5784 began with tragedy, conflict, and a rise in antisemitism that has threatened the very vitality of Jewish communal life around the world.
Today, Jews, synagogues, college students, restaurants, and organizations face an unsettling reality of harassment and violence. This year has been a stark reminder that we live in uncertain times, with so many unknowns about what lies ahead for us in America, Israel, and beyond.
But amidst these uncertainties, there is something that we DO know for sure.
During times of crisis and challenge, we find strength in coming together as a community.
Our shared heritage, families, traditions, and community provide us hope, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
Thankfully, Rosh Hashanah is just a few weeks away. It is a time to renew, reflect, and join together in spirit and purpose and to REBOOT our lives and priorities.
Jewish YPs are often left out — fewer resources are directed to supporting Jewish YPs than any other demographic in the community.
Last year, our board committed to ensuring that everyone who wants to experience the warmth, community, and spiritual fulfillment of the High Holidays can do so, so we made it FREE to RSVP.
We want to ensure that our programs are available to those who need them.
In addition to the High Holidays, Pico Shul will work TIRELESSLY in 5785 to support Jewish YPs with programs, counseling and guidance, trips and retreats, where YPs can meet Jews who love being Jewish, love Israel, and want to start Jewish families.
But we cannot do this alone- we need partners to support this work.
Thanks to generous donors — and in response to this communal threat — Pico Shul's many projects and programs impact the lives of thousands of young Jewish professionals each year.

There are 70 new Jewish families thanks to Pico Shul in 11 years.
For 15 years, we have focused exclusively on Jewish YPs.
We are constantly innovating, creating new opportunities.
We go where no one else goes.
We reach people that no one else gets.
We put our heart into every program, event, retreat, and holiday celebration.
We work to ensure that every YP is more connected to the Jewish community through a wider network of friends than before.
We remain committed to this cause — ensuring the Jewish future — and we will not let antisemitism and hatred be victorious. We will help Jewish YPs stay in the Jewish community, find a life partner, and start a Jewish family. And we help our YPs remain connected to Israel, the eternal Jewish homeland.
